URGENT SOFTBALL DATE CHANGES!!!!!!              

 

Hi Parents and Players,

 

 Because of circumstances beyond our control…we have a few date changes!

Field Day was originally scheduled for this Saturday, BUT because of expected rain this weekend and water saturation from the other rain we have gotten over the last week, we need to let the field properly dry out .

We are moving Field Day to NEXT Saturday, February 21st.  Varsity has an AWAY scrimmage game in the morning, so clean up-Field Day will begin at 1pm and wrap up around 4p-5p.

 

The Parent/Player Meeting was originally scheduled for Monday night at 630p in the Media Center.  The school has notified us, because of the Holiday weekend…the school will be closed up and we are not allowed to use the school that night.  The next available date for the PARENT/PLAYER Meeting is, Thursday night, Feb 19th at 630p. (We work hard on keeping this meeting to an hour).  I apologize for any inconvenience this change may have on your scheduling.  Because of the a number of time sensitive things to go over, we must have the meeting just as soon as possible….but we must always wait until after tryouts.   There will be Player/Parent agreements that must be signed that night, so this is a mandatory meeting.  If the scheduling has made it impossible for you to attend, please contact both Blaize and myself about paperwork and reviewing the information.

 

PRACTICE next week for all SQUADS:  Will still be Monday-Friday next week.  Even with the Holiday weekend, that does not preclude us from using our field and clubhouse for practice.

 

VARSITY SQUAD-  Heads up!   While the squad has not been named yet…..we will have our TRADITIONAL Sandra Day O’Conner Scrimmage game on Saturday morning, February 21st.  Time is to be determined..But, plan on being committed for the whole day, between scrimmage and Field Day!

Fees to budget for

            A. District Participation Fee $150   

            B. Husky Softball Fan Booster Club Fee $100.

                  (This fee will cover your daughters practice clothes, socks, uniforms and banquet fee)…we do this in lieu of labor intensive fundraising throughout the season.  C.. PAWS Membership Fee $30

Our T-shirts are in for the 2009 season!  Each player will receive a t-shirt as part of their practice clothes package. Your daughter will receive her practice gear after the $100 Husky Fan’s Fee is paid.  We will begin to collect for that on 2/19-Thursday night!   PARENTS and SIBLINGS…we will be selling the same t-shirts to support the team, if you want one.  They are $15 ea.  I will also bring the left over 2008 t-shirts ($5 ea) and what visors and hats we have leftover for sale.

BANNERS  Would you like to have a banner on our outfield fence this year?

Do you know a company that would like to advertise with us!  

We would love to get those banners done ASAP, so they are up and ready by season!

Blaize has posted all team schedules on our website:  horizonsoftball.com   We will review everything on Thursday night the 19th as well.

CONCESSION STAND CONTRIBUTIONS:  Please do not bring the drinks to Practices…Only bring to Parent Meeting or Field Day.

If your daughter is on: Varsity she is to bring 2 cases of water for the concession stand. 

Junior Varsity squad is to bring 1 case of water/ 1 case of soda.

 Freshman Squad is to bring 2 cases of soda.
